Peak is seeking a Tools Developer to help build our datacenter portal, including both internal and customer-facing applications. These tools will help track datacenter resources, deploy services, provide for customer self-service, and generally help automate our day. Your tools will support system administrators, network engineers, datacenter technicians, internal operations (esp., sales and finance), customers, and partners.
Peak Hosting is a dynamic, growing hosting company. While some companies seize on the latest buzzwords, Peak focuses on what matters: uptime, performance, and old-school customer service. We seek cartographers not cowboys to help chart our success.
Responsibilities:
- Build and constantly improve our datacenter operations portal. This will include integration with various systems, including Nagios, RRD, CRM, and existing custom software.
- Design and develop tools for our network engineers and system administrators, with a focus on automating manual processes.

- Your innate project management skills allow you to take ownership of problems and solve them, and you distill varying stakeholder requirements into actionable specification. From that specification you build intuitive, scalable tools.
- You are end-user oriented. Whether your consumers are internal or external, you are adept at taking their point of view and producing products that satisfy their needs completely and intuitively.
- You possess very strong verbal and written communication skills and a strong desire to share knowledge and train others. It will pain you to write undocumented code or to release products that cannot be easily understood.
